Another much simpler search option added in the equipment reviews section.

Now you can search directly the product you want and get the results in one click if the specific product has been added in my products db!

That's exactly what I am trying to do!
And the latest products also...
Actually I have found it...but I don't like the design..

Believe me, it's too hard for me to change the whole site in another programming language in 10 days!!

Hi Kibble,

1. It's easy to show the product name as well as the product code in the individual comment screen but as it is dropdown and there is a danger someone to change it by accident, i decided to hide it. And because you have deal with db's you know how inportant is the primary key in a db!!

2. The second is logical to because you have to clear the search because the browser has taken the post data. But it's not a problem because if you click resend it will go back.

Thanks for the comments anyway!!

Denis
A couple of comments (no comparision to how it was before, because I never used the previous one)
1)  I think it would be a good idea to include the actual equipment name in the individual comment screen, as well as or instead of the product code which is already displayed. The reason for this is that us old people are likely to forget which rubber/bat we were reading the comments on. Smile

2) If, when I was in the screen showing my selection i.e. Joola Rubbers, I tried to move back to the search function using the Internet Explorer back arrow. I arrived at a screen that told me the screen had expired. I had to go back to do another search using the 'Clear' hyperlink or better still the Advance Search hyperlink.

Maybe point 2 is covered in the instructions, but I don't use them unless I have to. I did not have to because I got to where I wanted to go eventually.

Having built some databases myself (only Access) I know how hard it is to capture all requirements by all users on all types of equipment. So no criticism from me.

I'm sure that it will evolve over time based upon constructive comments you recieve from the user community.

IMO I don't think it's difficult not even a disaster.
Way too complicacted?? What is complicated?
Everything is in position and from the menu you find whatever you want.

If you mean the Equipment reviews they have divided in sections under the Equipment menu button and there are guides to explain how to search.

The design has nothing to do with the previous one and I insist that anything new needs time to adapt...

The power of this site will be released soon ...

To Wingspan:

Now you can find reviews by type under the Equipment link in the menu.
Balls
Blades
Robots
Rubbers
Tables

The only click is to choose the manufacturer..:-)

Yes, 1-2 clicks more just to find what to search...but far quicker...trust me..
However I will check it in the next few days as I have so much to do..

I still don't think it's good.  There should be something there initially other than a blank page.  A blank page makes "advanced search" meaningless because to do any search you have to click on it.

Search by manufacturer in Blades & Rubbers ratings pages was added.

Now you can search by style and/or manufacturer too.

As for the default page, I disagree because I think that a blank page is quicker and more flexible in searching

Thanks.

There is a company called Stag, its based in India. They manufacture their products in germany and japan, especially the blades and rubbers. They also make balls and tables. I have yet to use one of their blades or rubbers. I have consistently been using their tables and balls thogh, and find them to be as good as any. I am no expert but I can make a fair comparison as I have also used Donic tables and Butterfly tables. I have used bals made by Nittaku, Butterfly and Double Happiness. I have recently acquired a set of "Explosive" rubbers made by Stag. I have assembled the blade but have yet to use it. Can you post their products on the site so people can start reviewing them, always helpful to read other's experiences when it comes to selecting equipment.

Thanks

I was wondering if you could add the Xi EnTing series of blades.  The best list I have found is probably here http://stores.ebay.com/Ping-Pong-Sky_PingPong-Blade_Xi-EnTing_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ5664005QQftidZ2QQtZkm

Hi ALL!

The table tennis equipment review page in DTTW grows day by day.
I added 2 new product categories (tables, balls) and I added more products in the other ones.
The biggest equipment reviews/comments database wait for YOUR COMMENTS!
